I first installed a Redarc SBI12 dual battery isolator in my 2003 Toyota Hilux where it performed faultlessly until the car was written off (damned horses!).
Its replacement vehicle, a 2014 Isuzu Dmax was also equipped with an SBI12. THe DIY install was easily undertaken, with simple and clear instructions that DIY's of even limited experience could follow. We also installed the dual battery connect button to link the batteries if the main battery failed - this happened out bush (as it always does!) when my cranking battery dropped a cell, and had to start the car for three days by pressing the button. Ive found the SBI12's to be basic but extremely reliable and very effective in what they do. Highly recommend these units.
