Advanced Australian manufacturer, REDARC Electronics is excited to be attending Pacific 2017, the international maritime exposition held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney from the 3rd to 5th October. REDARC will be basing themselves at the Defence SA stand.
Held bi-annually, Pacific 2017 is the only comprehensive international exhibition of its kind in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region that provides an essential showcase for commercial maritime and naval defence industries to promote their capabilities for decision-makers from around the world.
Managing Director Anthony Kittel along with Defence Contractor Kim Scott will be attending this exclusive industry event. This comes after Mr Kittel’s visit to Europe meeting key Primes and attending Defence and Security Equipment International (held in London) in September.
Mr Kittel said working with Defence Primes will help underpin the company’s future growth plans and create advanced manufacturing jobs.
“To date, we’ve worked with defence primes including BAE Systems and Thales to provide custom solutions, so we definitely see the opportunity to work with the naval defence industry as well.”
“We have over 250 years combined experience within our engineering department, and with 30 engineers focused solely on design innovation, and high-quality manufacturing processes, this places us in an ideal position to provide “built to print” and systems integration solutions”, he added.
REDARC’s product design, manufacturing and assembly capabilities in Australia are world class and have placed the business in an advantageous position to be a key supplier of Vetronics systems, battery and power management solutions for defence systems.
REDARC was recently named a Teaming Partner for Rheinmetall and BAE Systems Australia who are both tendering for the LAND 400 Phase 2 contract. The outcome will result in REDARC partnering with either Rheinmetall or BAE Systems to deliver a range of services and products that will contribute into the vehicle type each Prime have put forward.
REDARC is currently undertaking a major facility upgrade which has seen new state-of-the-art machinery and testing and validation equipment purchased. Within the next 12 months 2,000 sqm of advanced manufacturing space will be added and the creation of around 100 jobs over the next four years is planned to occur.
Mechanical Design Team Leader, James Albrechtsen was recently awarded the Young Achiever Award at the 2017 Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) Awards , which recognises an outstanding young person who is motivated, ambitious and has excelled in building their career in the defence industry.
