Team TAFE SA arrive safely in Adelaide after the 2019 Challenge.

In exciting news, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge has just announced that the next competition will run from the 22nd to the 30th of October 2021.

REDARC is a proud sponsor of Team TAFE SA who will adventure across the outback in their solar-articulated vehicle.

Mark Ready, crew leader for Team TAFE SA said, “The new regulations for the 2021 competition that the whole solar vehicle community had been eagerly waiting for have just arrived. We can now focus on the preparation of our vehicle,” he said.

The Adelaide to Darwin challenge will see them journey 3,000kms in their solar powered vehicle. 

The Challenge is designed to push the limits of technological innovation by travelling the outback in a vehicle powered only by the energy of the sun. Teams comprise of tertiary and secondary students from all over the globe.

REDARC's sponsorship will assist Team TAFE SA participate in three world challenges 2019, 2021 and 2023 and includes team support from REDARC’s qualified technical staff, who also enjoy working closely the team.

It can be a rewarding experience for REDARC staff such as William Farina who won Best Student/Apprentice Award at the Electronics Industry Excellence Awards. He was nominated based on the exceptional work he did as the lead for electronics and electrical in the recent 2019 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

REDARC Managing Director, Anthony Kittel said, “We are a passionate innovator that provides renewable energy systems for vehicles and a core focus on developing the skills of young people in South Australia,” he said, “We look forward to supporting Team TAFE SA as they prepare over the coming year.”
