Celebrating 40 years is a significant milestone for any business especially in this global economy. The story of REDARC celebrates success and how through resilience and persistence the company has been able to buck the decline in manufacturing in Australia.
Throughout 2019, REDARC have commemorated their anniversary through a range of internal and external activities which have included the unveiling of a special 40th anniversary logo, and in thinking of their customers they also launched a retail giveaway and trade prize. Notably REDARC released only 40 limited-edition ‘RED’ 40 amp in-vehicle DC battery chargers (BCDC1240D), ensuring that they remain truly unique.
REDARC is also an organisation that prides itself on giving back to the community.
To celebrate their community connection, REDARC has committed to raising $10,000 each for the CFS Foundation, Junction Australia, Catherine House and the Royal Flying Doctors Service, totalling $40,000.
Managing Director, Anthony Kittel said, “We have always been, and will continue to be, a proud and active member of our local and broader community," he said, "We wanted this to be reflected in our 40th anniversary celebration and in a way that would have a postive impact."
REDARC have raised $38,000 (as at 6 Nov 2019) towards their goal. Since January the business has been collecting funds from their popular coin operated coffee machine and through internal auctions. REDARC’s external fundraising activities will include a raffle which is due to be launched in Spring.
Anthony said, “We have fostered relationships with these organisations for many years, some as far back as 2011.”
Junction Australia has been supported by REDARC since 2011, when they answered the plight to help keep the local Hackham Community Centre open. REDARC donated some prize money from their 2014 Telstra Business Award and donated $36,000 over a three-year period focusing on Family Connections Hackham. Since then REDARC has helped the community centre with ongoing financial support.
The CFS Foundation provides financial assistance to CFS volunteer firefighters and their families who have suffered through death, injury, loss or damage of property while in the line of service. REDARC is an ongoing sponsor of the CFS Foundation, having first sponsored their Fire Trail event in 2016 and continuing their relationship with an ongoing donation. We have launched a raffle to raise $5,000 for the cause.
Catherine House is an Adelaide based organisation that assists women by providing crisis accommodation and support. REDARC has supported Catherine House for a number of years including sponsoring their annual fundraiser since 2018.
The most recent relationship is that with the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
“This year staff had the opportunity to select a charity that they wish to support as part of our 40th celebration. From the many organisations that were put forward, they selected the Royal Flying Doctors,” Anthony said, "It has been encouraging to see staff rallying together to help raise funds for these organisations."
The Royal Flying Doctors Service has been saving lives in rural and remote Australia for 90 years. Today they care for more than 300,000 Australians each year. Funds raised go towards helping them to replace intensive care units which can cost the RFDS more than $7m a year.
