REDARC is excited to be once again exhibiting at Land Forces 2018, Australia’s premier land defence exhibition and a leading land defence forum for Australia, Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. The event will be held once again at the Adelaide Convention Centre September 4th - 6th, with REDARC to be part of the Defence SA Stand no. 1J4 – SA PAV.
The biennial event is a powerful forum for key decision-makers throughout the region, enabling government representatives, defence officials, military procurement managers and senior army officers to network with defence materiel manufacturers, equipment suppliers and service providers.
The Australian Army and Department of Defence used Land Forces 2016 as a platform for engagement and partnerships with neighbours, allies and industry.
Land Forces 2016 was a rich environment for defence and industry professionals. 501 exhibitors from 23 countries showcased goods and services to more than 13,450 visitors from Australia and the Indo-Asia-Pacific. REDARC expects similar levels of attendance at the 2018 exhibition.
Defence Account Manager, Mike Hartas stated that presence at this event will further open doors for REDARC as it continues its pledge into the Defence sector.
“Over the last year we have made great progress in our plans for defence, of recent is our selection as an SME partner for BAE Systems Australia who successfully won the bid on the SEA5000 Future Frigates project.
“We are close to finalising the factory expansion this year, which will help underpin our growth plans for defence and aid in finetuning our proposals to BAE and their suppliers”, he stated.
REDARC will be displaying its first Column Grid Array (CGA) at Land Forces, a new capability that has been introduced at its facility as a result of the expansion plans.
This new capability has been made possible with the Vacuum Vapour Phase soldering oven (the Asscon VP7000) from SUBA Engineering, who specialises in production solutions for the Electronics Manufacturing and Wire Processing Industry. This is the first instance of this capability being used in Australia.
REDARC now offer PCB assembly with a range of CGA packages that offer stronger, more reliable connections than BGA (Ball Grid Array) IC packages.
Key applications for CGA technology are in industries where reliability is paramount - and failure is not an option - industries such as defence, aerospace and medical.
“We put 15% of our revenue into R&D which gives us the competitive edge to not only support specific defence requirements but also ensure we remain world class in our equipment, manufacturing capability and service.”
In June 2017, REDARC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Germany’s Raytheon Anschutz to deliver the navigational bridge systems for the naval project. REDARC also recently signed an MOU with Britain’s MARL International to manufacture and support the LED lighting solutions that will go onto the frigates.
