REDARC Achieves International Environmental Management System (EMS) Certification REDARC is pleased to announce that the company has achieved Certification for its ISO 14001 environmental management system (EMS). During December 2007 and January 2008 third party auditors (SAI Global) conducted rigorous inspection and assessment of the REDARC facilities and processes and as a result ISO14001 internationally recognized environmental standard certification was granted.
REDARC, has been very proactive, for many years now, in ensuring their business methods had limited impact on the environment, however, in early 2007, as part of its preparation for the relocation to their new state of art facilities, they began implementing a more comprehensive environmental management system with an end to achieve international certification to the ISO14001 standard simultaneously.
REDARC has been certified under the Australian SAI Global Assurance Program to ISO 9001:2000 since August 1996 but will soon move into a new category of certification when it is awarded the coveted ISO 14001 Certification for their EMS. ISO 14001 is recognised by the distinctive green ticks logo, similar to the red ticks awarded to companies that have achieved quality assurance certification.
Speaking about the ISO 14001 Certification, Milan Grcic, Quality Manager of REDARC said “the ISO 14001 Certification process was both independent and exhaustive, which made it all the more valuable to us. During the compliance process it was clear that the REDARCmanagement and employees sought the certification because it was the right thing to do and not because it is a good management recognition tool. This clearly demonstrates that we are concerned about the environment and that we take seriously our stewardship. REDARC is now recognised internationally as one of the world’s best managed and environmentally responsible electronics manufacturing companies. More importantly the profile that the red and green ticks offer our business, also offers our client’s confidence in our quality assurance and EMS. It also provides assurance on environmental issues to the community and regulatory agencies”.
