REDARC is proud to continue its support of the Dr Paul Collier Scholarship for a place on the Leaders Institute of South Australia’s Governor’s Leadership Foundation program. The scholarship is designed to provide high-end development for key people in organisations throughout South Australia that provide support for those with a disability or are a leader who has a disability of their own.
REDARC would like to congratulate the 2018 recipients of the scholarship, Anji Hill, Chief Project Officer of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Jackie Sincock, General Manager of Operations at Community Support Incorporated.
The scholarship has allowed Anji and Jackie to undertake the 10-month program which is designed to broaden, enhance and accelerate their leadership capabilities.
Speaking of the Governor’s Leadership Foundation, CEO of The Leader’s Institute of SA, Cathie Brown said “The GLF program gives industry leaders in all sectors the opportunity to take their leadership development to a new level and become better, more holistic leaders through reflecting on their own leadership behaviours, immersion in thought-provoking experiences that challenge their world views, being involved in a community project and meeting leaders in their fields. Through improving leadership capabilities, this creates a greater chance for success within their organisations which ultimately feeds into the success of the State.”
REDARC has sponsored the Dr Paul Collier scholarship since 2013 and has committed to provide a scholarship for both the 2019 and 2020 programs.
This scholarship was named in honour of Paul Collier who was the founder of Dignity for Disability (D4D) a South Australian human rights-based organisation that aims to ensure representation in Parliament for people with disabilities.
Managing Director of REDARC, Mr Anthony Kittel, shared a close relationship with Dr Collier as both were participants in the 2009 GLF program.
Speaking of their bond Mr Kittel said, “Paul and I were in the same study group for the GLF program, it was inspiring to watch him work with his disability and not let it get in the way of what he wanted to achieve.”
“REDARC believes in and fully supports equality in the workplace and by sponsoring this scholarship it is one way to reflect our values and highlight our dedication to this cause.”
