The REDARC Tow-Pro Elite, when installed correctly, suit any 12 or 24v vehicle used to tow trailers, up to 4.5tonnes ATM, in the Australian marketplace.
All modern vehicles, which have any of the following onboard systems, will suit the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite:
REDARC has released to the market a series of Tow-Pro wiring kits (TPWKIT-… part numbered) which are vehicle specific, engineered to ensure that when installed as per the included instructions, give reliable operation and do not affect any of the onboard vehicle systems or trigger fault codes. Installers using the Tow-Pro Wiring Kits will reduce fitment time, ensuring a fault-free installation and trouble-free operation.
In releasing the 2019MY Ranger and Everest models, Ford Australia has introduced Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
AEB does not interact or affect the trailer brakes but it does change the location in the vehicle where the brake signal for the Tow-Pro Elite can be sourced.
To support this change, REDARC has developed and will release a new Tow-Pro wiring kit for the 2019MY Ford Ranger and Everest vehicles with AEB.
The difference between an AEB and non-AEB vehicle, for the installation of the Tow-Pro Elite, is the location in the vehicle where the brake signal can be sourced.
