Hi
I have solar system at my farm which has a 80amp charge controller and 10 120ah agm
Batteries.  After a couple of cloudy days and the batteries voltage goes down i attache
A 30amp multi stage battery charger to top up when we run our diesel generator for the house power . I do notice that the solar cc output goes down when the battery charger is on.
My question is does this affect the life of the batteries and does both confuse each other when self testing and working out the charge rate .
Thanks
Brett

Hi Brett
Thank you for your email
REDARC’s technical support line is a free service for REDARC product information and assistance with fault diagnosis. Because we do not have information on those non REDARC components we are unable to give you technical information on how well your set up will work with your batteries or how well your solar regulator will interact with your mains powered AC-DC charger.
I recommend contacting the manufacturers of your chargers to see how they will interact, as well as the manufacturers of your batteries to find out what their maximum voltage input is to see suitability of your current chargers.

Regards
Cameron

After fully charged, I usually turn off the batteries. Over 2 years of use, the quality has not deteriorated.

I think you need to look for problems in the charger.

Hi, I also think the problem is with the charger.
