The REDARC BCDC1225D In-vehicle Battery Charger is the next generation in REDARC's DC to DC charging technology, with additional features that make it the most advanced dual battery charger on the market.

Featuring a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, the BCDC1225D will charge from both solar and the alternator simultaneously. And, with built-in 'Green Power Priority' it will select solar charging first, meaning less load on the alternator.

Suitable for 12 or 24-volt vehicle systems, the unit will also work with either standard or variable/smart alternators.

The BCDC1225D features the same patented charging profiles as it’s predecessor along with a new lithium charging profile making the unit suitable for charging AGM, Gel, Standard Lead Acid, Calcium and LiFePObatteries.

For most applications, the BCDC1225D is suitable for battery bank sizes of 75-200AH. For higher capacity needs of over 200AH, REDARC recommends the BCDC1240D.

The REDARC BCDC1225D is an essential part of a power management system for a successful big lap around Australia
Living on the road requires some sort of power management system to keep the beers cold, shower running and all gadgets charged. To maximize the time you can stay off the grid, a well-designed power management system containing quality equipment such as a good DC-DC charger is essential. I decided on the REDARC BCDC1225D as it allows me to charge the batteries to the full 100%. It also allows you to connect it to the alternator and solar panel simultaneously and the device will select solar power above the alternator through the Green Power Priority. Being built in Australia, you can be convinced it will handle the harsh Australian conditions.

Redarc 1225D makes travelling oz a breeze
We recently installed the BCDC1225D into our camper trailer. It is an awesome little unit that will fit in almost anywhere you want it to and a relatively easy install. Having the camper battery so far from the alternator/starter battery is not an issue now as the 1225D boosts the amps while we are driving. We were amazed at how much more charge was going into the battery while driving, arriving with a fully charged battery nearly every time even after only short drives. We were also able to remove the crappy regulator we had on our cheap ebay solar panels as the unit has a solar input as well. This also makes a huge difference to how much charge we're able to get out of our solar panels.
We recently went to Moreton Island and stayed 6 nights with average weather, only getting limited solar in and not driving the trailer. We managed to keep the batteries at an acceptable level off one solar panel which we have never been able to do for that length of time before installing the 1225D.
We knew the 1225D would make a difference to our ability to camp remote for longer periods and look after our batteries but it has definitely exceeded expectations.
