The BCDC1240-LV is a 12 Volt 40 Amp In-vehicle DC Charger featuring technology designed to charge all major lead acid batteries to a proven 100%. It’s suitable for vehicles fitted with an ECU-controlled variable voltage alternator.
The BCDC1240-LV dual battery charger features a lower voltage setting so it can operate with variable voltage alternators.
As a guide the BCDC1240-LV is suitable for battery bank sizes over 200AH. For smaller batteries of 75-200AH REDARC recommends the BCDC1225-LV.
With a wide operating range (9V – 32V), the DC to DC charger will charge from both 12V and 24V vehicle systems.
The BCDC DC to DC charger also features a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, extracting the maximum amount of power from solar panels to charge an auxiliary battery, even during low light conditions, when you’re parked.
With multiple levels of fault protection. The DC to DC battery charger will act as a dual battery isolator, should the voltage get too low, the start battery will be protected
